The wires have to be cut to the correct length before they are inserted into the connector. The crimper presses the pins (blades) into the wires. You don't have to strip the wires, but they do have to be cut to length. Wrap the metal cord from the cable around the outside of the cable before sliding it into the connector. You can also loop this shielded wire around one of the crimp ears.

  • Shielding your network prevents signal loss and electromagnetic EMI/RFI interference and maintains a proper ground connection.
  • Fully shielded products provide reduced pair-to-pair crosstalk, alien crosstalk, and considerably improved immunity to noise at all frequencies.
  • TP807 have 8 pins and 8 conductors (8P8C). Superior two-prong contact design for a solid round or stranded wire cables.
  • Significantly improve Shannon capacity.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • It concerns me design/quality - wise that they didn't think to include an eylet specifically to connect the drain wire. Should I be ?

No eyelet no problem, the eyelet breaks and then you have no drain. Wrap your drain wire around the cable before pushing the cable into the connector and you will be fine. This method works and can't fail.

  • Will a regular $5 crimp tool from ebay work with these?

I believe I spent approx. $10 on my crimp tool. If you're buying a bag of a 100 of these, it can't hurt to try the cheaper tool. What your looking for is a tool that will accurately press in those little metal tabs (pins) without smashing the plastic fins between the tabs (pins).

  • Do these ends come with pre-insert guides?

These RJ45 connectors do come with self insert guides that make them easy to accept stripped wires. Just make sure wires are cleanly stripped and even. They are the easiest ones I've used so far.

  • Will these fit solid 24awg wire?

    Yes, it will.

  • Are these for Stranded or Solid core cable?

    Solid Core.

  • Are these connectors pass through? Meaning, do the pairs go through and get cut during crimping process?

No. The wires have to be cut to the correct length before they are inserted into the connector. The crimper presses the pins (blades) into the wires. You don't have to strip the wires, but they do have to be cut to length. Not a difficult procedure. I have never seen any connectors as you have described.

  • Are these contacts gold plated?

    No, they are not.

  • Are these connectors the type that use the guide bar that you put all the connectors in first or just have to get all the connectors in manually?

This connector requires manual insertion of the wires.

  • Do these connectors have a eylet specifically to connect the drain wire to?

I don't remember seeing an eyelet for the drain wire but I usually just loop this shield wire around one of the crimp ears. Then I crimp it together. I haven't seen a short yet on the 300 cables.
